Marco Romanelli at WeSec 2026: operational resilience and third-party risk
On 23 September 2026, Marco Romanelli, Partner at Carbonetti e Associati, will speak at WeSec – Il Salone della Sicurezza, the event promoted by ABI, as part of the panel “Resilience: you are only as strong as your weakest link. And today, that link may not be yours.”
The panel will focus on operational resilience in the financial sector and the management of risks arising from relationships with third parties. Increasing reliance on suppliers, outsourcers, cloud providers and technology partners has significantly expanded the risk perimeter, making the ability to oversee the entire operational chain a key factor in ensuring business continuity.
Against this backdrop, DORA (Digital Operational Resilience Act) has introduced a comprehensive regulatory framework to strengthen the digital operational resilience of financial entities, with particular attention to the management of risks arising from third-party ICT service providers.
The discussion will explore how to assess the resilience of technology supply chains, strengthen third-party risk governance and manage the cascading effects that may result from incidents affecting external providers.
The panel will also provide an opportunity to discuss practical approaches and real-world experiences, exploring how to turn regulatory requirements into a resilience management framework capable of supporting business continuity and the competitiveness of financial sector operators.
