The interview with Fabrizio Carbonetti, founding partner, was included in Il Sole 24 Ore “Law Firms of the Year”.

The interview – “Authority-effect in Rome” gives an overview of the legal market in Rome.

It is well known that the most important financial center in Italy is Milan, but the presence in Rome of Authorities such as the Bank of Italy, Consob, Competition Authority and the Ministry of Economy and Finance gives the Capital a key role in banking and financial market.

This is the opinion of Fabrizio Carbonetti, founding member of Carbonetti and Partners, a law firm headquartered in Rome specialized in those fields since 1989, providing assistance in corporate law, banking law, capital markets and investment services.

«The Firm has also an office in Milan – says Fabrizio Carbonetti – but the presence of the Authorities in Rome is crucial because financial market operators must necessarily deal with them» … «It is true that nowadays we operate via telephone, e-mail, videoconference, etc., but meetings and territorial contiguity are still essential» adds Fabrizio Carbonetti.

Rome also offers several opportunities in real estate assets of public institutions and social security institutions, as well as non-performing loans. «We provide assistance in all the phases of these transactions – says Fabrizio Carbonetti – especially in favour of funds that want to invest in these sectors. Dealing with non-performing loans, the Firm also handles with their recovery, both judicial (enforcements, bankruptcies, etc.) and extra-judicial (settlements)» … «Nowadays being good is not enough, you have to be a “scholar” – concludes Fabrizio Carbonetti – and this is the reason why we have set-up various focus groups, including a FinTech lab».
